Marsa Jabel Dhanna

A sense of arrival

The 250 km journey along the coastline from Abu Dhabi is rewarded by a great sense of exhilaration, achieved by looking out along the dramatic 2-kilometre jetty which extends into the clear waters of Marsa Jabel Dhanna. Arriving primarily by car or tour bus onto a pier of activities and excitement, visitors make their way to a pleasant waterfront where there are numerous places to shop, dine, and relax, while waiting to catch the next ferry to the Desert Islands.

A place to reflect

Should you arrive after the last ferry, you can spend a quiet and enjoyable night in one of the many cafes or taking an evening stroll before retiring to a comfortable beachfront hotel.

Development highlights

Marsa Jabel Dhanna functions as a logistics hub for the Desert Island. It will be significantly developed to cater for the large amount of people who will be arriving through this point. The major developments include:

  • Construction of a 150 room beachfront hotel, mainly to cater for visitors arriving in the late afternoon or evening
  • Significant marina facilities, allowing constant flow of ferries, water taxis and sea planes to carry visitors around the destination
  • Large above and below ground parking facilities
  • A lookout point, offering exceptional views of the Arabian Gulf and out to Sir Bani Yas Island

Dalma Islands

Dalma is an island that celebrates its living heritage with an opportunity to revitalise, renew and recreate a heritage sanctuary. Inspired by, and building upon the existing dhow marina, the local fishing and boat building culture will be transformed into a waterfront destination alive with daily activities and local traditions.
