Seaplane Flights

The emirate of Abu Dhabi has over 200 natural islands. Many of these are yours to discover as your seaplane flight offers unsurpassed scenic views. With just 8 passenger seats on each flight, everyone has access to a window, giving plenty of opportunities to view some of the many dotted islands and picturesque reefs.

Your exclusive flight experience will commence on arrival to the Royal Jet Terminal in Abu Dhabi. All flights have their own catered VIP lounge with TV and Internet access. On departure your Chief Pilot will welcome you to the aircraft and take you on a 50-minute scenic voyage before descending on Sir Bani Yas Island. You will be flown around the northern tip of the island, just past the Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara, before landing safely in Sir Bani Yas Bay.

The Cessna Caravan type Aircraft is renowned for being one of most unique and safest single-engine aircrafts. Flights are operated by Empire Aviation and depart from the Royal Jet Terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport. For easy directions to the terminal please download a location map on the right.

NOTE: Special Baggage Restrictions
The Cessna Caravan aircraft has limited luggage space. As such special restrictions apply for checked baggage and carry-on luggage.

Each passenger is allowed:

  • A maximum of 10kgs checked baggage
  • Only small suitcases, normally described as carry-on baggage, can be flown. The usual baggage size should not exceed the following specifications: 56cm (Length) +36cm (Height) +23cm (Depth)
  • Only small hand luggage - such as purses, wallets and small bags - will be allowed inside the passenger cabin. Standard international baggage guidelines apply. For more information about which items you are allowed to carry on board an aircraft click here.

Please note: Additional luggage may be transported to Sir Bani Yas Island via vehicle, and will arrive after you do. Desert Islands therefore recommend visitors pack their most valued items in their checked baggage.
