The Desert Islands Education Centre is an educational facility that caters for the local community of Dalma Island.
The centre was created to empower the local population through education so that they are better equipped to participate in the growing tourism industry. Courses are offered free of charge to locals on Dalma Island and include English, computing, management and tourism skills. Many courses are internationally accredited.
The centre is staffed by a combination of overseas and UAE national teaching professionals, who tutor students on English language, tourism, computer studies, business writing and customer service.
Upon graduation, the centre acts as a facilitator in presenting students with employment opportunities both on and off the island.
There are already a number of Desert Islands Education Centre graduates working at Desert Islands.
